Hi Wije

Thanks for the well written report, really enjoyed it. I have been to “Avukana” about 10 years back, and want to take the kids sometimes, looks a great place to stay too.

Kind Regards

Hi Wije.

Enjoyed your nice trip report.
Thanks for sharing the same.
BTW,
Some Archaeologists do not believe the site presently called  Vijithapura;  as the real Vijithapura  where the fort was existed. As per them, that should be located close to  Polonnaruwa, at the border of former Rohana Kingdom.  Roll Eyes

Hi Wije,
Nice report. Well written. I too stayed in the main bungalow in April 1986. It was well maintained even at that time. The photos take me back in time.

Thank you.

Yes, The Archaeologists are still not sure where the real Vijithapura was this or the one at Polonnaruwa.

Hello Wije,
Detailed report on historic places around Kalawewa and Vijithapura.
I have been there in March 2010. But couldn't be able to visit Rasvehera. Hope to  visit there in future.
