Hello Jayathu,

The credit should go to YohanW as it was YohanW who first gave me that number. I had spoken to Mr. Gunasinghe on that line sometime back but always thought that it was the line of the Okanda Office.

I am yet to meet Mr. Gunasinghe but, from what I have heard about him he is definitely the person who knows everything about Kumana.

Have a good trip.

Best Regards,

Priyanjan.

Hi Jayathu

The phone number of the Okanda Wildlife Office is 055 572 0222.  We camped at the ada kumbuka 1 campsite last weekend.  The water level in the Kumbukkan Oya is quite low (the moya is open), but there is still enough water to have a nice river bath.

regards

Yohan

Hi YohanW,

Thanks very much for the contact details. I have booked the Gal amuna camp site through Mr. Gunasinghe. My plan is to go there in October and hope the rainy season would not begin until then.

Thanks again,
Jayathu

You have to go to the forest department office at Baththaramulla. You can contact them on the number given in the first post of this thread.

Would someone kindly provide an updated number for Horton Plains? It seems the number here is no longer correct. When I dial it says to substitute 062 with something else and the area code, but I can't seem to find what this area code is?? Sad
