Hi All, I came across with an email which contained the following link while I was searching for something else. I have no idea from where I got this since it was in my sent items. I searched in Lakdasun also several times but didn’t get any search results for this. So I thought of sharing these amazing Panoramas with you all. http://www.janapriya.net/gallery/panoramas/Enjoy!!! Amila

Hello Dinesh,
Except the Camera and the fish eye lens what would be the process? Do we need any particular software to run this? (You can zoom in / out, etc) I don’t think this will be an easy task. It feels just like we are there. Can look around anywhere we want. Simply amazing.
Cheers, Amila

Hi Amila,
Superb stuff. Thanks for sharing. Wish we have such panoramas from most of the scenic places for those who are not lucky enough to visit in person.. I have done a few cylindrical panoramas using Panorama Factory software but never a spherical one as this. As Dinesh said, think this needs the fish eye lens.
Cheers, Jayathu

Thanks guys. Thanks Mithila for forwarding this thread. This is where you find more info about the Sigiriya panoramas. http://www.janapriya.net/gallery/sigiriya/. Although I have shot many panoramas, this is the only set I managed to process and upload to my site. Hopefully will upload more. Although not comprehensive, I managed to combine few thoughts on "How to shoot a panorama" in http://www.janapriya.net/2010/10/26/shooting-panoramas/. In a nutshell, I used SLR camera, Panohead, Tripod, Fisheye lens, Hugin Software for stitching, Flash Panorama Player for displaying. Ruwan Janapriya http://www.janapriya.net
