Hi Pirate
they said they will not allow more than 8 to stay! because all resources are limited to the number "8"

The camping site is 500 meters down stream! you can get the details from the forest department!

HI Ashan & Pirate,

I have camped near Thelgamu oya in 2005 with the permission granted from Forest Dept. They do not allow setting fire but in a secure place you can get permission to arrange a fire place.
Have to beware of leeches.

Thank you Ashan for the valuable information provided.

Cheers,
Amila

The best place to stay is in Forest Department bungalow which is bit inside the forest. (just beside the main domitory)
this is managed by the Forest Dept and maintained by "Dumbara Surakinno". I have visited this place in last September, very nice and clean place. It has two rooms and each room can accommodate 4 adults (02 bunk beds in each) claen and tidy toilets were in separate outside area.
Sorry I took pictures but I dont have those with me right now to upload here.
