Thank you very much for sharing a nice trip report. I also have to visit this place one day.
Also please note that the frog you have included in the trip report is not ‘Sri Lankan Petite shrub-frog’ or ‘Pseudophilatus tanu’.
It should be Pseudophilautus mooreorum, who is an endemic amphibian restricted to the Knuckles region.

Superb expedition...so you have climbed koboneelagala...
Thank you for the fabulous report
Will do dumbaanagala together...
Ah don't forget about kirigalpoththa which is a lesser known peak..i think trail startes from riverston side

I heard this mountain in Nov 2017 as "Aliya Kanda" from Raja at Thangappuwa.
But that time I haven't enough time to go there.
But when I see this report I wonder about the Kobonilagala since I was searching it.
Raja took us from another route and we get down through your route which is easy to achieve from that Bungalow.
Actually we had an event to this hike and we finished this within 3 hours.
Thanks for your report to identify it as Kobonilagala.

I saw your pics. Seems you guys had clear weather compared to us.
