Kithulgala – General Area

Kitulgala is a small town in the west of Sri Lanka. It is a rain forest located in the wet zone which gets two monsoons each year. It is one of the wettest places in the country. Nevertheless, it comes alive in the first three months of the year, especially in the month of February which is the driest month of the year.

Horton Plains (Maha-Eliya) – Heaven on Earth, 2100m Above Sea Level

Horton Plains is a unique natural attraction in Sri Lanka. It is located in the highest plateau of the country and its known for its beautiful landscapes and rare plant and animal life. The Horton plains is one of the most important catchment areas in Sri Lanka which acts as a giant sponge which store rain water and then feed seveal major rivers of the country through out the year.

Knuckles South – Deanston, Corbett’s Gap & Traditional Villages

Knuckles mountain range, situated in the north-east of central hills of Sri Lanka, is one of the most important natural sites in the country. Coupled with the presence of a large number of mountain peaks and valleys, the entire region is unbelievably diverse in terms of climate, terrain, vegetation and obviously, animal life. One of the access routes available to explore this unique site is to enter the southern region of Knuckles from Hunassgiriya, the highest point of the Kandy – Mahiyanganaya road

Bambarakanda – Waterfalls, Mountains, adventure and scenic beauty

Bambarakanda waterfall is the highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. Situated in the hill town of Kalupahana near Haldumulla in the south eastern slopes of central hills. The area around Bambarakanda is rich with scenic beauty, rugged terrain, waterfalls, tea fields and cool climate making it an attractive destination for nature lovers.
